Five regional buses operate at the airport. All buses disembark passengers at the Departures Level and depart from the Arrivals Level, between Exits 2 and 3, opposite to the Airport Hotel.

The airport is also accessible via Metro Line 3.

Athens International Airport is connected to Athens Central Railway Station (Larissis Station) and the port of Piraeus via the Suburban Rail.

Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of Arrivals Level.

Public transport
The city of Athens operates a comprehensive metro, bus and tram system.  The metro system links the city with Piraeus (the ferry port), suburbs and downtown Athens. Frequent ferry service is available from the Port of Piraeus to many of the Greek islands.  Nearby islands such as Aegina, are popular destinations for day excursions from Athens.
